CORDA INDIA

In October 2016, Kelli arrived in India with suitcase full of macrame knotting boards, and met with a small group of artisan women making jewelry in Delhi. They introduced her to the materials in local markets and began learning the art of knotting the CORDA macrame necklace designs.

Kelli returned to California, and after several months of training via What’s app and with the guidance of talented lead designer, Elle Sungte, the first batch of CORDA macrame was introduced to the US. This same group of women continue to assist in creating many of the macrame and braided pieces offered in the CORDA Collections.
